Lots of posts about who Felassan is in the Masked Empire out there these days. All factual. All important. All leaving out his most defining trait.
Felassan is a fucking weirdo. He's so over everything. He says the most insane shit. When asked about it he pulls "idk, I'm Dalish?" out of his ass and doesn't even have the decency to make it sound true.
He eats bark, kids. All you Solavellan girlies out there need to know a couple of centuries of putting up with your man's bullshit leaves you chewing random pieces of bark and teaching stray lesbians to murder like it's a social experiment.

If you've seen me ranting in tags about Felassan sshh. But there is such cowardice to the way Solas killed Felassan.
Not just because it was while Felassan’s back was turned. Which already is incredibly unfitting considering this is your friend Solas. A man you've known since before "Fen'harel" became the stuff of stories. He was your general, someone you FOUGHT beside. If you had to kill him, looking him in his big beautiful purple eyes was the least you could do.
But it's also the contrast in the way Felassan is willing to face the truth. And Solas isn't. Felassan lost his world too, watched it crumble as the very foundations of its existence was shattered. Left alone, wondering if he was left to fix it on his own. And he does wander. He experiences Thedas, meets its people and even raises a teenager. Taking her under his wing. Raises her on stories of the Dreadwolf in some imitation of how he would inspire the rebellion by fueling the stories of the Dreadwolf.
Point is. Felassan experienced and came to CARE for Thedas. He knew the truth, that it was a real world and no longer just a mistake. That had to have been just as terrifying to realise for Felassan, as it eventually was for Solas. But Felassan FACES IT. Meets it head-on...even as it leads him to death.
And he knows its in vain. But he tries to sway Solas anyway. To bring his friend to the truth. And Solas, who cannot face the truth, kills him for it. Before he can EVEN finish his sentence. Because he's a coward.
And probably BECAUSE it was coming from someone he loved. Someone he trusted and respected. Is why he couldn't be allowed to finish his sentence. Because he couldn't allow himself to be convinced.

This question has been run before, but because it was a while ago and the options are different I’m permitting it to run again

Tried to do another (younger) Felassan based off of Assad Zaman, and instead it looks like Finn Wolfhard 🥲
(I am so sorry, Mr. Zaman)

Uhh so, hey, quick question regarding this survey question. You people who want to reunite Celene and Briala. As rulers and as a couple. Have you read The Masked Empire and if yes: how ... i mean why. WHY??

This post will probably be huge cuz I wanna yap abt this so bad, I have so much to say.
Currently on The Masked Empire in my journey of reading the books and comics. And I wanna talk about it because so far this is absolutely one of my favorites, close to Asunder even.
I'm only a hundred and sixty or so pages through it, but I adore it. The in depth descriptions of what characters are wearing, the way you get to see Celene in action, Briala as well, calculating and playing the game. It's a fascinating. And I'll admit that as someone not super socially aware, I sometimes have to wait for the charcater to directly state what they've figured out because myself couldn't. It feels like whilst we've gotten obviously very smart characters before, we really get to in depth see the gears turning this time. Can you tell I love stories that have fantasy related politics?? Lol
Not to mention the relationship Briala and Celene have, it's so obviously problematic but at the same time I love it so much. In an odd way I feel almost seen by it? Not sure how to describe it but I love it. (I prolly just need to read more WLW books, haha)
Just, so far this book is so great, and I'm sure something horrible will happen, Inquisition seems to allude to it after all, but I love it anyways and cant wait to see what happens. Even if I desperately want Briala and Celene to be okay when they wont.

Choices by Ciella
M/M
Fandoms: Dragon Age: InquisitionDragon Age - All Media TypesDragon Age (Video Games)
Relationship: Michel de Chevin/Imshael
I am Michel de Chevin.
He didn’t say it aloud. If he had, the demon would mock him for it at the very least. Though the demon would mock him anyway. He didn't need a cause to do so.
I am Michel de Chevin.
“Come now, Michel,” Imshael crooned from behind him, so close that Michel could feel the warmth of his breath against his neck. “You need only make a choice."
Michel almost laughed. He could feel the sour thing bubbling up in him. A choice. He made nothing but choices, and each seemed to be poorer than the last. Everything that had made him what he was, his station, his honor, his purpose, had been stripped from him. It would be an easy thing to blame the Empress and her she-elf. Just as easy to blame Gaspard. And no one would fault him if he blamed the demon. The demon who even now was winding his fingers lightly through Michel's hair. He was hovering so close that an onlooker might think he was pressed up against Michel's back, but in truth, he had left some space there. Just enough that Michel felt a pull to simply fall back into him. Enough to be tempting. But it was not Imshael's way to take what he wanted. It was always a choice, and the choice had only ever been Michel's. He held the blame for all of it.
I am Michel de Chavin.
A hand wrapped around him and Imshael's fingers walked their way up Michel's chest until they reached the medallion he still wore about his neck. Imshael fiddled with the medallion for a while, as if he had all the time in the world. As if he weren’t still playing with Michel’s hair. As if he weren’t standing naked behind him, just a centimeter out of reach. Everything in Michel wanted only to lean back into the demon and let himself be taken. He’d done it before, and hated himself for it in every moment since. It didn’t stop him from wanting it though. And the demon had made full use of that, returning again and again. Sometimes Michel would tell him to leave. In those moments he was stern and unmoving and always spent the rest of the night pawing at himself in search of a release that would not live up to what he would have gotten with Imshael. Other times he gave in easily, wanting nothing more than the demon’s cruel and unyielding touch. He knew that Imshael didn’t care what choice he made. If he denied himself, the demon would be pleased to leave him alone and frustrated. If he gave in, he would enjoy making Michel want him all the more.
If either would please the demon, why shouldn’t I get pleasure out of it as well?
He could feel the heat of Imshael’s body behind him, hear the small clack of his medallion on Imshael’s fingernails, smell the slight scent of sulfur the thing gave off. Was he really so weak? Would he really…
He leaned back into Imshael’s form, giving in to his need, and felt the small rumble of laughter from the demon’s chest. Both arms now wrapped around him tightly from behind, sliding his palms across his chest one way, then curling his fingers and dragging his too sharp nails back the other. They tore at the cloth of his doublet and he could feel the pressure of them against his skin. They wouldn’t leave a mark, but they didn’t need to. Michel would feel them always.

Briala feeling bad for Celene after she had literally slaughtered the elves makes me so mad. She feels guilty rather than angry at Celene because she wasn’t there to guide her to make the right choice. Makes me feel awful for reuniting them in the winter palace.
